PURPOSE: Appoint Robert Ogawa to the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission to serve as representative for the Law Enforcement Community.
BACKGROUND: After consultation with Sheriff Adam Fortney, Executive Dave Somers recommends the appointment of Capt. Robert Ogawa to serve on the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission (SCHRC). Per SCC 2.700.040, the SCHRC is comprised of nine members. Of the nine members on the Commission, one represents the County Executive, one represents the law enforcement community, five represent each of the five County Council Districts, and two members serve in at-large positions. The County Executive consults with the County Sheriff before recommending an applicant to the position representing law enforcement. County Council members are consulted with before recommendations are made for the representative from their district.
