Executive/Council Action Form (ECAF)
ITEM TITLE:
Title
Ordinance 24-022, approving and authorizing the Snohomish County Executive to sign an Interlocal Agreement between Snohomish County and the City of Arlington for equipment maintenance and repair services
body
DEPARTMENT: Facilities & Fleet
ORIGINATOR: Rachael McNiel
EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Ken Klein 3/21/24
PURPOSE: To approve an interlocal agreement for Fleet Services to furnish equipment maintenance, repair and upfit services to the City of Arlington
BACKGROUND: The City of Arlington has requested that Snohomish County Fleet Services Division (FSD) provide equipment maintenance, repair and upfit services. Through negotiated interlocal agreements with local cities/jurisdictions, FSD has provided regional fleet maintenance services for over 27 years. These agreements provide the County revenue and economies of scale when purchasing parts and helps reduce overall Fleet rates by spreading fixed maintenance costs (facilities, etc.) over a larger base. This new agreement was approved by the City of Arlington and is from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2028, with an option to extend for one additional five year term. The agreement was legally reviewed by the County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, is similar to other such agreements, fosters efficiency in government and benefits both parties.
