EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Ken Klein 3/12/24
PURPOSE: Approval of this Right-of-Way (ROW) plan will allow the ROW acquisition phase for the 84th St NE / 123rd Ave NE Intersection Improvements project.
BACKGROUND: The County proposes to construct a roundabout at the 84th ST NE / 123rd Ave NE intersection to improve traffic flow and safety. The project is consistent with the 84th Street NE Safety study completed in December 2019. Property from eleven (11) parcels is to be acquired for this project. The Right-of-Way acquisition process is scheduled to occur in 2024 and 2025. The project is located within Council District #1. Funding has been secured through a $1.68 million Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) federal grant and a $1.45 million Rural Arterial Program (RAP) state grant. NEPA has been completed for the project. Community outreach completed to date includes mailers (2,600), project website, one-on-one coordination with 12 out of 12 parcels, and a public meeting (November 2021.)
