EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Lacey Harper 2/5/24
PURPOSE: To authorize the County Executive to sign a Facility License Agreement with the Snohomish Conservation District for SWM Native Plant Nursery.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County and the Snohomish Conservation District have a mutual interest in conserving county natural resources including native plants. The County’s Surface Water Management owns and operates a Native Plant Nursery located in Lake Stevens. The Conservation District has a need for a place to propagate their native plants for their projects and a place for their Washington Conservation Corps crew to work. The Conservation District is willing to dedicate hours and provide porta-potty services to the Nursery in exchange for use of the Nursery. SWM’s Nursery has the space and is willing to allow the District to use certain areas of the nursery. The Conservation District and Washington Conservation District has or acquired and provided proof of the necessary insurance to cover their crews.
