EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Lacey Harper 4/27/23
PURPOSE: The National Association of County and City Health Officials, with support from the Centers for Disease Prevention (CDC), the National Center for Injury Control and Prevention (NCIPC), is contracting with local health departments (LHDs) for the implementation of the overdose prevention strategies at the local level (IOPSLL) project. This project is designed to build capacity for local health departments serving jurisdictions with an above average burdens of drug overdose deaths.
BACKGROUND: The mission of the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) is to improve the health of communities by strengthening and advocating for local health departments. NACCHO provides opportunities through the year for local health departments to apply for grant funding for various project. The Snohomish County Health Department has utilized NACCHO funding in the past with much success.
