PURPOSE: To fill an at large vacancy on the arts commission
BACKGROUND: Click or tap here to enter text.The Snohomish County Arts Commission was created in 2004 to propose and oversee a county-wide arts program. The arts commission serves as an advisory board and makes recommendations regarding the purchase and commissioning of public art and the promotion of cultural arts in Snohomish County.
The Arts Commission consists of 11 members that represent each council district, plus six at-large positions. Joy Ratzel lives in Lake Stevens and is an arts docent, with an academic background in childhood education and testing. Joy would like to advocate for education through the arts.
Approval by Motion is sought from Council to appoint Joy Ratzel to the Snohomish County Arts Commission, At Large position, effective at date of approval, fulfilling a four-year term, expires December 31, 2026.
