EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: N/A
PURPOSE: Amend 2.12.070, adding a second District Court Judge to the Cascade Court.
BACKGROUND: The 2023 Budget appropriated six-months of funding for a District Court Judge. Senate Bill 5003, signed by the Governor on March 30, 2023, amends RCW 3.34.010, adding a District Court Judge to Snohomish County’s allowed number. Snohomish County Code 2.12.070 assigns a specific number of judges to each court, and with the additional judge allowed by SB 5003, SCC needs to be amended.
