DEPARTMENT:  Airport

ORIGINATOR:  Joshua Cole

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Neepaporn Boungjaktha (3/20/23)

PURPOSE: To authorize an intergovernmental agreement between Snohomish County Fire District 4 and Snohomish County Airport for transfer of a vehicle.

BACKGROUND: .

Snohomish County Fire District 4, a municipal corporation, has a surplus fire vehicle that they are unable to consistently staff and are willing to transfer ownership of the vehicle essentially free of charge to the Airport.

Pursuant to the Agreement, the Fire District 4 will transfer the vehicle and associated equipment to the Airport, Fire Division, who has qualified firefighters to utilize/operate the fire truck. The Airport Fire Division will keep, maintain, operate, and cross staff the vehicle for response and readiness as an initial response to MCI and/or large emergency incidents when called upon including responses within the jurisdiction of the District pursuant to SnoComm emergency dispatch procedures.

The Airport shall incur the costs of title transfer and associated maintenance.  Further, the Airport shall not sell the fire vehicle for ten (10) years without first offering to transfer the vehicle back to the Fire District at no cost.
