PURPOSE: To fund Pollution Prevention Assistance (PPA) Specialists who will provide technical assistance and educational outreach to businesses that are small quantity generators of dangerous waste in an effort to prevent pollution of waters of the state as part of the Pollution Prevention Assistance Partnership (formerly known as the Local Source Control (LSC) Partnership).
BACKGROUND: The mission of the Pollution Prevention Assistance Partnership is: “We protect Washington’s residents and environment by helping small businesses reduce toxic chemical use, safely manage dangerous waste, and keep stormwater free of pollutants.”
