PURPOSE: Approve Interlocal Agreement to provide funding to the City of Edmonds for improvements to Civic Park
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County Council approved Amended Ordinance 22-056 on November 9, 2022 to adopt the 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which included funding for the City of Edmond's Civic Park Improvements project. This project is planned to complete a number of improvements including the addition of a gathering area with a water feature, a walking path around the perimeter of the park, a multi-use sport court, exercise equipment, a picnic area and restroom. The City has provided a written request to receive the funds and has agreed to the terms of the Interlocal Agreement. Funding for 2023 provided from the County to the City will be in the amount of $150,000 and ILA agreement will expire December 31, 2024. Additional funding to the City of Edmonds Civic Park Project include 2019 for $150,000 and 2021 for $150,000 which both ILAs have been extended and will expire 12/31/2023. A grand total of $450,000.
