PURPOSE: Approve an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Monroe to provide funding to support construction of a sidewalk extension within WSDOT right-of-way and adjacent to the Evergreen State Fair Park
BACKGROUND: The City of Monroe applied for and received partial funding to construction sidewalk improvements within the State of Washington’s Right-of-Way adjacent to Hwy 2 and the Evergreen State Fair Park. The project will provide a new sidewalk extension, which will facilitate emergency access to and from the Fair Park, and also pedestrian access to the facility and aesthetic improvements. Total project cost is estimated to finish at $1,870,000 and funding is available in the Fair Park Capital Budget to contribute $275,000.00.
