Title

Ordinance 22-070, relating to the 2022 Budget; making a supplemental appropriation in Fund 124 to provide expenditure authority for rental assistance (TERA)

body

DEPARTMENT:  Human Services

ORIGINATOR:  Mike Liddicoat

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Lacey Harper 11/28/22

PURPOSE: The purpose of this appropriation is to provide additional expenditure authority within Human Services Fund 124 for unanticipated cost related to emergency rental assistance in 2022.

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County has been awarded additional Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance funds (referred to as TERA) funding, from the US Department of the Treasury, in the amount of $15,943,064.

This award was not anticipated when the original 2022 budget was developed; thus, appropriation authority in the amount of $15,943,064 is needed.  All $15,943,064 was subcontracted to a local nonprofit to provide eligible activities to the target population.
