EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Lacey Harper 11/28/22
PURPOSE: The purpose of this appropriation is to provide additional expenditure authority within Human Services Fund 124 for unanticipated cost related to emergency rental assistance in 2022.
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County has been awarded additional Emergency Solutions Grant (referred to as ESG) funding, from the US Department Housing and Urban Development. Human Services designated $2,219,036 of ESG funds to provide client rental assistance.
This award was not anticipated when the original 2022 budget was developed; thus, appropriation authority in the amount of $2,219,036 is needed. $2,219,036 was utilized by Human Services staff to provide rental assistance to the target population.
