ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 22-439, approving and authorizing the County Executive to execute a Critical Area Site Plan (Woods Creek Bridge)

body

DEPARTMENT:  Public Works

ORIGINATOR:  Clarissa Barrett

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein (approved 10/10/22)

PURPOSE: This Critical Area Site Plan complies with requirements of the Critical Areas Study and Habitat Management Plan (05/2005) in connection with the Woods Creek Bridge 445 Replacement, filed with Snohomish County Public Works under Survey #3653. Mitigation was required per Chapter 30.62A SCC (Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas.)

BACKGROUND: The Woods Creek Bridge 445 Replacement Project was approved for construction by the Snohomish County Council in November 2006. As part of the regulatory permit process, a Critical Area Study (05/2005) was required in order to construct the project. The Study and Plan called for a designated protection site that would be left permanently undisturbed in a substantially natural state. Parcel # 28073500100500 was chosen as the compensatory mitigation site for the project’s impacts to critical areas. The project was completed and closed in February 2009. Permanent protection of this mitigation site requires approval by the Snohomish County Council and recording of a Critical Area Site Plan with the County Auditor.
