EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein (10/7/22)

PURPOSE: To change all references within Snohomish County Code from “Snohomish Health District” to “Health Department” as well as cleaning up obsolete code sections.  RELATING TO A COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT;  REPEALING CERTAIN CHAPTERS OF TITLE 7 SCC;  AMENDING CERTAIN CHAPTERS OF 5, 6, 7, 9, 13 AND 30 SCC

BACKGROUND: The County Council approved Motion 22-248 June 8, 2022, to authorize notice of intent to withdraw from the Snohomish Health District on December 31, 2022, which will allow for the establishment of a new health department. Recognizing the benefits of collaboration, combined resources, strengthened abilities to address issues, improved access, increased opportunity and efficiency, the Council authorized the Motion.
