PURPOSE: To recommend the appointment of Benjamin Boyle to the Snohomish County Council on Aging.
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Council on Aging exists to advise, assist, and advocate for older persons and those adults with disabilities in Snohomish County by keeping the County Executive and other elected officials apprised of the concerns and needs of the older populations; and assisting and guiding the work of the Long Term Care and Aging group in fulfilling its stated missions, supporting ongoing evaluation of program services, and policy involved in the implementation of the Snohomish County Area Plan on Aging.
Ben Boyle has worked with various community partners and volunteer organizations to better his community. As a physical therapist working with individuals of varying ages and ailments, Mr. Boyle believes participating in an advocacy role for his patients would be beneficial to both them, as well has the community at large. Mr. Boyle also serves on the American Physical Therapy Association as Washington Chapter President, as well as working with the Cabra Community Youth Project, working with at risk youth through engagement in sports activities. Ben Boyle resides in Council District #5 and is applying for an initial three-year term commencing upon appointment.
Mr. Boyle does not serve on any other county boards or commissions.
