EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approve (Ken Klein 8/5/22)
PURPOSE: To continue the Snohomish County Public Works Assistance Fund by re-establishing Chapter 4.117 SCC.
BACKGROUND: • On July 20, 2016, Council approved Ordinance No. 16-055 creating the Snohomish County Public Works Assistance Fund, providing for loans to local governments, and adding a new Chapter to Title 4 SCC. • The ordinance was automatically repealed on July 20, 2022, pursuant to SCC 4.117.080 Sunset, and County Charter section 2.115. • Because Ordinance No. 16-055 was not re-enacted prior to the effective date, a new Ordinance is required to continue the program and funding. • The proposed ordinance will again create the Public Works Assistance Fund and will repeal six-years following enactment unless re-enacted prior to that date in accordance with Snohomish County Charter section 2.115.
