EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approve - Lacey Harper

 

PURPOSE: To recommend the re-appointment of Erika Larimer to the Snohomish County Developmental Disabilities Citizen Advisory Board.

 

BACKGROUND: The Developmental Disabilities Citizen Advisory Board is comprised of citizens who serve in an advisory capacity to the Developmental Disability (DD) staff of the Snohomish County Human Services Department.  The Board meets monthly and is comprised of up to 15 members, drawing from all areas of the county and a range of backgrounds, including family members, individuals with developmental disabilities, professionals, and advocates.

                     Erika Larimer resides in Council District 3

                     Erika Larimer meets the requirement of membership which includes: at least five members shall be persons with developmental disabilities or family members of persons with developmental disabilities

                     Erika Larimer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations and a certification in strategic planning methods

                     Erika Larimer has over 10 years of experience navigating special education systems

                     Erika Larimer has worked closely with the Snohomish County Developmental Disabilities; she has helped facilitate community resource meetings using the “Front Door Model” wherein community agencies collaborate to assess and deliver needed resources to families.

                     Erika Larimer is not a member of any other County committee or council

                     Erika Larimer is recommended for an additional three-year term upon appointment
