PURPOSE: Authorize the recruitment and hiring of two new court reporters within Superior Court
BACKGROUND: In the 2022 adopted budget, Superior Court is authorized to hire two new court reporters. While the hiring of court reporters has proved to be difficult, the Superior Court is requesting authorization to begin recruitment and hiring sooner than the October timeframe outlined in the 2022 budget. The Superior Court has created sufficient salary savings in preparation of early recruitment and hiring and will fund this request with said savings. Overall, this action will be budget neutral and will not require additional budget authority.
