PURPOSE: To confirm the appointment of Luke Distelhorst to the Housing Authority of Snohomish County Board of Commissioners.
BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners is a citizen governing body which provides guidance to the Housing Authority of Snohomish County.
Luke Distelhorst has expressed an interest in utilizing his experience serving on local boards, his knowledge of, and experience in outreach, public engagement and initiatives and affordable housing concerns, and would like to serve on HASCO's Board of Commissioners to help be a part of HASCO's vision and future
* Mr. Distelhorst resides in Council District 3 and is currently an Outreach and Public Engagement Specialist with Community Transit. Mr. Distelhorst has more than 15 years of experience serving community needs, both professionally locally, and in Mongolia and Canada as communications manager, city council member and outreach and public engagement specialist; personally by serving on numerous boards and committees, and volunteering throughout the community.
* Mr. Distelhorst's appointment is supported by the other members of the Board as well as the County Executive.
* Once confirmed, Mr. Distelhorst will serve his first five-year term expiring March 14, 2027.
* Mr. Distelhorst currently serves as Board President, Sno-Isle Librairies Foundation, is serving as a leadership team member for Leafline Trails Coalition, and has served on many other boards and committees throughout his career.
