body

DEPARTMENT:  DCNR

ORIGINATOR:  Gretchen Kaehler

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approve - Lacey Harper

PURPOSE: 2022 - Historic Preservation Grant Recommendations

BACKGROUND: Ordinance 08-119 authorizes the County to administer a Heritage Preservation program to allocate revenues accruing under provision of RCW 36.22.170. These funds designate a share of document recording fees to the promotion of historic preservation.  The Snohomish County Historic Preservation Commission established grant criteria and an application process to distribute the funds throughout the historical preservation community. These funds are fully budgeted under the Historic Preservation sub fund in the General Fund. A sum $100,000 was budgeted for 2022 grants. The Snohomish County Preservation Commission recommends awarding $100,000 to eleven (11)  out of twelve (12) qualifying projects.
