PURPOSE: To obtain Council approval of a 2nd amended contract with Freimund Tardif, PLLC, regarding the Aradon v. Snohomish County matter.
BACKGROUND: The County entered into a contract with Freimund Tardif, PLLC, in August 2020, and the Council approved the 1st amended contract in March 2021, for the litigation of the Aradon v. Snohomish County matter (C20-064). The litigation of and the resolution to the Aradon matter, which involves a dependency issue, are taking longer than initially anticipated. The 2nd amended contract authorizes compensation of up to $100,000 to Freimund Tardif as litigation continues.
