PURPOSE: The legislature enacted RCW 84.34 to maintain, preserve, conserve and protect lands for the social wellbeing of the state and its citizens and has further declared, “that assessment practices must be so designed as to permit the continued availability of open space lands for these purposes.”
BACKGROUND: Owner seeks to reclassify 9 out of 10 acres, reserving 1.00 ac for the dwelling, from Open Space Farm & Agriculture to Open Space General-Farm & Agricultural Conservation Classification. There has been no recent commercial activity; therefore, it no longer meets the income criteria. The land is located at 28828 139th Avenue NE, Arlington, WA.
