PURPOSE: Click or tap here to enter text.Approval of Amendment No. 5 to Agreement CC02-19 for On Call Legal Services will allow Public Works to continue to utilize Joyce Ziker Partners to provide legal services related to the former Snohomish Road Maintenance shop cleanup and Solid Waste for the Sisco Landfill remediation.
BACKGROUND: On January 3, 2019 an agreement was executed between Snohomish County and Joyce Ziker Partners, PLLC, for On-Call Legal Services - Environmental Review with a not to exceed amount of $25,000. To date four amendments have been completed. The first, in April 2019 to increases the hourly rates charged by Joyce Ziker Partners to be consistent with the hourly rates of their previous agreement and the second, third and fourth, to extend the completion date of the agreement from December 31, 2019 to December 31, 2022. Historically the services under this agreement have been used for the Snohomish Shops property. Public Works anticipates some additional needs related to the Snohomish Shops property as well as additional services related to the Sisco Landfill project. Proposed Amendment No. 5 adds additional rates for a new attorney, Stacy Bernstein, who will be providing legal services related to the Sisco Landfill and adds an additional $35,000 to the contract total. This amendment has been reviewed and approved by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office. The new maximum contract amount is $60,000.00
