PURPOSE: Accept the Real Property Donation through a Donation Agreement adding 5.72 acres to Snohomish County Park Property inventory adjacent to the Whitehorse Trail.

 

BACKGROUND: The adopted Snohomish County Park and Recreation Element, in the Parks and Recreation Comprehensive plan, which became effective in 2015, includes a goal to provide open space and natural areas. Anton Stetner owns a 5.72 acre a tract of undeveloped land valued by appraisal at $120,000.00 that encompasses these goals. The property is located adjacent to the Whitehorse Trail and the only development will be a bench with plaque stating:  DONATED BY THE FAMILY OF DANIEL A STETNER, 2021.  County acceptance of this donation will eliminate additional trail crossings and retain the property in a natural forested canopy along the trail corridor.
