PURPOSE: Amending Snohomish County Code 9.04 Dog and Cat Licenses
BACKGROUND: This amendment allows for the issuing of a permanent pet tag rather than issuing a new pet tag each year for cats and dogs in Snohomish County. A pet tag will be permanently assigned to a specific pet and pet tags will only be replaced by request if lost or become unreadable. The cost of a replacement pet tag is $5.00. The county will reduce administrative and supply costs (~$5,000) by eliminating the automatic replacement of a pet tag upon renewal of a pet license.
