PURPOSE: Response to 2021 Budget Condition #2 - DCR Law Enforcement Direct Access Pilot Program
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Council requested that Human Services respond to five considerations related to expanding a pilot program that provides law enforcement direct access to Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs) when law enforcement encounters a person needing behavioral health services and support. Human Services’ Crisis Services Program and Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office met several times to address the specific expectations outlined in Budget Condition #2, as well as drafting a proposed implementation plan within Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office south precinct jurisdiction for Council’s consideration.
