EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved by Ken Klein 7/29/25
PURPOSE: Will convene the Board of Equalization to permit the Board to hear 2025 assessment year petitions.
BACKGROUND: RCW 84.48.010(4) provides that, with the approval of the county legislative authority, the Board of Equalization (BOE) may convene at any time when petitions filed exceed twenty-five or ten percent of the number of appeals filed in the preceding year, whichever is greater. The Snohomish County BOE received 1241 petitions for the 2024 assessment year. The Board has so far received over 124 petitions for the current 2025 assessment year and has requested that the County Council convene the Board for the purpose of hearing these appeals.
