PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 27 to Marpac Construction
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. The existing exterior lighting was not compliant with current building life-safety codes. The situation was not discovered until electrical improvements and inspections were in process. The first lights attempted to solve the situation proved to be incompatible with the 60-year-old junction boxes. The lights proposed by this Change Order will address both issues. The door hardware packing is being revised to allow the Salvation Army to use only programable key cards to access all keyed rooms. This will eliminate the need for mechanical keys, which are more difficult to track and replace.
