Motion 24-409, confirming the reappointment of Michele Blythe to the Snohomish County Council on Aging

PURPOSE: To recommend the appointment of Michele Blythe to serve a second three-year term on the Snohomish County Council on Aging.
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Council on Aging is comprised of individuals who represent various age, gender, ethnic, and employment backgrounds from each of the five geographic council districts. Each year the Snohomish County Long-Term Care & Aging advertises widely for applicants to fill vacant Council on Aging positions. The applications were reviewed, and the Council on Aging membership interviewed the applicant. The potential nominee is completing her first 3-year term as a Council on Aging member. Of note, Michele Blythe is not a member of any other County Boards.
The Council on Aging membership recommends the following individual for appointment to the Snohomish County Council on Aging for a second three-year term ending September 30, 2027:
Michele Blythe, County District #1
Currently serves as Council on Aging, Vice Chair
Current Employment: City of Arlington Councilmember
Education: AA General Studies, Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership (AWC), CBA Graduate School of Retail Banking
Experience: Michele is the current State Council on Aging (SCOA) Chair. Michele was the former co-chair of the Arlington Civil Service Commission and a former member of the Executive Board of Directors for the Stilly Valley Chamber of Commerce. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Michele has become passionate about being more proactive regarding issues facing the Senior Citizens in our community.
