PURPOSE: To fill the board of the Citizens’ Commission on Salaries of Elected Officials.
BACKGROUND: The Commission is charged with filing a schedule of salaries for elected officials with the Council and Auditor every two years, beginning no later than May 1, 2008, and no later than May 1 every two years thereafter. The Commission is comprised of ten members: one from each Council District, drawn by lot from the pool of registered voters; one at-large, drawn by lot from pool of registered voters: four nominated by the Executive representing (a) business, (b) legal, (c) organized labor, and (e) professional personnel management. Commissioners may serve two two-year terms. Deborah Hoover served a first appointment to the Salary Commission in 2024 as At-Large Representative. She is now available to serve as District 1 Representative, which was vacated by the initial appointee who had to resign for personal reasons. This would be Doborah Hoover’s second and final term on the Salary Commission.
