Title

Motion 25-410, appointing Ramina Dehkhoda-Steele as Hearing Examiner Pro Tem and approving the related professional services contract

body

DEPARTMENT:  Office of Hearings Administration

ORIGINATOR:  Peter Camp

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Ken Klein 9/2/25

PURPOSE: Appointment of Hearing Examiner Pro Tem and approving related professional services contract

BACKGROUND: The Office of Hearings Administration does not have a Deputy Hearing Examiner position. Pro tem hearing examiners are needed in the event of a conflict or if the Hearing Examiner is unavailable. Ramina Dehkhoda-Steele, Esq. responded to the request for proposals. Ms. Dehkhoda-Steele has substantial experience and expertise in land use and hearings, serving as an arbitrator for King County. The proposed contract is of a similar duration as previous hearing examiner pro tem contracts (2 years with a possible 1-year extension if mutually agreed).
