DEPARTMENT:  Public Works

ORIGINATOR:  Lori Ericsson

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein 10/2/23

PURPOSE: To approve the Interlocal Agreement Between Snohomish County and the City of Marysville Regarding Solid Waste Management

BACKGROUND: Since 1990 the Cities and Towns within Snohomish County have entered into 20-year interlocal agreements to participate in the County’s Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan and the County’s Solid Waste System.   Through this agreement the County provides disposal sites and the cities and towns designate those sites for the disposal of solid waste generated within their borders.   The Current ILA expires on December 31, 2023.  A new 15-year agreement has been negotiated with each individual city and town, including this agreement with the City of Marysville.   If approved the agreement will be in effect upon execution through December 31, 2038.
