PURPOSE: Enter into a program agreement with Washington State Department of Social and Health Services to provide the domestic medical health screening exam, outreach, access, and follow-up to health assessment services with primary care, community health clinics, or specialty care for newly arrived refugees.
BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Health Department has held a contract with the Department of Social and Health Services for many years to complete health screenings for refugees settling in Snohomish County. A health screening is one part of the required visits for refugees as they resettle in the United States. Staff conduct the screening, review their immunization records to ensure they have all required immunizations and connect refugees to services in the community.
