DEPARTMENT:  Conservation & Natural Resources

ORIGINATOR:  Annique Bennett

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approved by Lacey Harper 6/13/23

PURPOSE: To facilitate a variety of innovative funding methods, including, but not limited to, sponsorships, agreements with vendors and public and private partnerships.

BACKGROUND: The Snohomish County Park and Recreation Element and General Policy Plan both encourage and promote innovative funding methods to help support individual parks and the Evergreen State Fair and Fair Park.  Specific code to facilitate the method of fund acceptance however has not been provided and accepting funding has required processing through the Executive Office, or Council, depending on the amount.  In negotiating agreements, simplicity of process is sought in order to make it easier for community organizations to partner with Snohomish County in providing park and Fair Park facilities and services.  The goal of this effort is to strengthen partnerships and increase innovative funding contributions.
