PURPOSE: Approval of Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement between Snohomish County and the Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District.
BACKGROUND: On September 23 2003 Snohomish County (the "County") and Mukilteo Water and Wastewater District (the "District") entered into an agreement for the County to connect County wastewater facilities to District wastewater facilities within the District's service area. The original agreement was set for a 20 year period which expired on 12/31/2022 and the agreement was amended once to extend the completion date through 06/30/2023 . The County and District wish to extend the term of the agreement for an additional six months through 12/31/2023 in order to continue to negotiate terms of a new agreement. The District approved the amendment at their regularly scheduled board meeting on 06/07/2023. If approved, the estimated cost for the additional six months of service is $50,000.
