PURPOSE: To confirm the appointment of Nicolas Kadir-Jensen to the Housing Authority of Snohomish County (HASCO) Board of Commissioners.

BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners is a citizen governing body which provides guidance to the Housing Authority of Snohomish County.

Nicolas Kadir-Jensen has expressed an interest in utilizing his education and lived experience serving his community to help his community thrive. Mr. Kadir Jensen reports being highly educated in public policy and knowledgeable of local affairs and is passionate about affordable housing. Mr. Kadir-Jensen serves on local boards, has knowledge of, and experience in outreach, public engagement and would like to serve on HASCO's Board of Commissioners to help be a part of HASCO's vision and future.

? Mr. Kadir-Jensen resides in Council District 2 and is currently employed at Enviro-Issues as a Senior Associate- Public Engagement.

? Mr. Kadir-Jensen has more than 8 years of experience serving community needs, both professionally locally, and in and Canada as consultant, project manager and communication and development officer, personally by serving on numerous boards and committees, and volunteering throughout the community.

? Mr. Kadir-Jensen's appointment is supported by the other members of the Board as well as the County Executive.

? Once confirmed, Mr. Kadir-Jensen will serve his first five-year term expiring May 5, 2030.

? Mr. Kadir-Jensen currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation, and is serving as Vice-Chair Boundary Review Board of Snohomish County, and has served on many other boards and committees
