ITEM TITLE:

Title

Motion 25-248, authorizing the property officer of the Department of Property Management of the Facilities and Fleet Division to sign Temporary Construction and Monitoring Easement and Landowner Agreement in connection with Fish Enhancement Project with Adopt-A-Stream Foundation

body

DEPARTMENT:  Facilities and Fleet

ORIGINATOR:  Carl Jorgensen

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Ken Klein 5/16/25

PURPOSE: To provide Adopt-A-Stream Foundation a temporary construction easement and landowner agreement to accomplish a fish enhancement project in the North Creek adjacent to McCollum Park.

BACKGROUND: Snohomish County owns property known as McCollum Park ( the “Park”) which is adjacent to a fish baring stream called North Creek (the “Stream”). Snohomish County has been made aware that the Stream needs to be slowed during the winter months to improve salmon habitat and reduce erosion and to help preserve water flow through the Stream during the summer months. The Adopt-A-Stream Foundation (“the AASF”) has been awarded a grant to install channel spanning logjams and/or beaver dam analogs in North Creek to accomplish fixing the concerns previously mentioned.
