PURPOSE: Appoint Heather Damron to the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission to represent District 4.
BACKGROUND: Following consultation with Councilmember Peterson, Executive Dave Somers recommends Heather Damron to be appointed to the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission (SCHRC) to serve as the District 4 Commissioner. Per SCC 2.700.040, the SCHRC is comprised of nine members. Of the nine members on the Commission, one represents the County Executive, one represents the law enforcement community after consultation with the County Sheriff, and the other seven represent the five County Council Districts following consultation with each County Councilmember, and there are two at-large members. The term length of commissioners is three years, subject to a limit of three consecutive three-year terms. This will be Heather’s first term of appointment, expiring July 1, 2026.
