PURPOSE: To confirm the reappointment of Dr. Gloria Ngezaho to the Human Rights Commission.
BACKGROUND: Executive Dave Somers recommends the reappointment of Dr. Gloria Ngezaho to the Snohomish County Human Rights Commission to serve as the at-large representative for the County Executive. Per SCC 2.460.040, the SCHRC is comprised of nine members. Of the nine members on the Commission, one represents the County Executive, one represents the law enforcement community after consultation with the County Sheriff, five represent the County Council districts following consultation with each County Council member, and there are two at-large members. The terms of commissioners is limited to three consecutive three-year terms. The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the County Executive, County Council and other county officers in matters concerning human rights. This term will expire June 30, 2027, and it will be Gloria Ngezaho’s third and final consecutive term.
