PURPOSE: Council acknowledgement of procurement compliance violation.
BACKGROUND: Road Maintenance was not following Small Works Contract requirements, namely not obtaining purchase orders from the Purchasing Department prior to work being performed. In several instances work was authorized by field staff and carried out by vendors before securing a purchase order. Upon notification from the Purchasing Dept, Road Maintenance notified all field staff and vendors that quotes and issuance of purchase orders is required before work can proceed.
