PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Contract for campus Denney Juvenile Justice Center Energy Audits
BACKGROUND: In 2024, the Washington State Department of Commerce (COM) introduced the Energy Audit Incentive Program for Public Buildings which provides reimbursable payments for energy audits completed July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025 on Tier 1 buildings. Facilities applied for this program for the Administration Buildings, Courthouse Buildings, and Denney Juvenile Justice Center (DJJC). The application was reviewed by COM and approved in December of 2024. The attached agreement allows Snohomish County Facilities to receive $56,240.86 for DJJC. Energy audits for the Admin Buildings and the Courthouse Buildings will also need approvals and will be submitted on separate ECAFs for a total dollar amount of $285,743.53. This request is to Expedite as our grant window to complete work and receive reimbursement is very small and the funds are not guaranteed until the agreement is signed.
