PURPOSE: The Snohomish County Office of Public Defense (OPD) has received an award of $938,248.38 and was approved by Motion 26-235; therefore a supplemental appropriation is needed to provide budget authority in the 2025-2026 Adopted Budget.
BACKGROUND: A supplemental appropriation is necessary in the Office of Public Defense in General Fund 002, in the 2025-2026 budget, in the amount of $938,248.38, to provide expenditure authority for funds received from WA State OPD. These funds were not anticipated prior to adoption of the 2025-2026 budget. Motion 26-235 approved the award, and this action is needed to provide the corresponding budget authority.
