PURPOSE: The purpose of the extension is to provide more time to meaningfully coordinate and plan with multiple local, state, and federal partners to develop useful risk reduction strategies for wildfire in Snohomish County.
BACKGROUND: The current professional services agreement with True Wind provides geospatial, outreach and plan development services that will result in five geographic zone annexes to the current Community Wildfire Protection Plan. The broad geography of Snohomish County and the various partners make outreach and coordination a time-consuming undertaking. The outreach and coordination is made more complex given the timing of wildfire season, resulting in many of the necessary partners being unavailable to provide their subject matter expertise since they are deployed and fighting wildfires.
