EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:  Approve - Ken Klein

PURPOSE: The agreement with Alford and Assoc., PLLC requires additional expenditure above $25,000 which now requires Council approval via motion to allow expenditure above $25,000.

BACKGROUND: Snohomish county entered in to an agreement on February 7^th, 2022 for indigent legal defense services with Alford and Assoc., PLLC for $25,000.  The agreement was executed by the Executive under Snohomish County Code 3.04.190 as the total amount was $25,000 or less. OPD expects to exceed this amount that now requires approval by Council.  There is no change to the contracts hourly fee and services will remain the same. This motion will ratify the original agreement and allow expenditure above $25,000.
