PURPOSE: To allow forensic pathology locums tenens to assist with our caseload amid a forensic pathologist shortage.
BACKGROUND: Due to a nationwide shortage of forensic pathologists, we have been unable to hire for the two vacant Associate Medical Examiner positions. We have been advertising since January 2022 and have two potential candidates that aren’t likely able to begin until January 2023. This contract will allow for extra help with performing autopsies and exams.
