PURPOSE: To provide budget authority for funds received from the Washington State Office of Public Defense for the purpose of making improvements to indigent defense.
BACKGROUND: There is a need for such supplemental appropriation because the funds which support it exceed the adopted 2025-2026 biennial budget. Grant funds from WA State were budgeted for $886,418 over the biennium and exceed this budgeted amount by $447,697.02.
