PURPOSE: The purpose of this ECAF is to seek approval for an enterprise vehicle AVL/Telematic solution. This also encompasses mapping software for public facing snow removal. The telematic data provided by this contract will also be used for enhancing fleet planning and documentation for grant writing. Additionally, this will provide us usable data for green fleet planning, grant writing, and data to right size the county fleet.
BACKGROUND: The County’s current AVL solution has been in place since 2007, with 350 heavy and light duty vehicles currently enrolled. Some County departments are collecting advanced telematics data on heavy equipment and are interested in expanding use and leveraging telematics data for decision making purposes. The County is seeking a comprehensive telematics solution that ensures data reliability and facilitates department and user interactions.
