PURPOSE: Expenditure authority for unanticipated medical costs for LEOFF 1 retirees.
BACKGROUND: The County is required by RCW 41.26 to pay for necessary medical costs for LEOFF 1 retirees. The LEOFF 1 Disability Board reviews and approves reimbursement of medical claims. The year-to-date claims are higher than anticipated in the 2023 adopted budget requiring an appropriation of fund balance to increase expenditure authority.
