PURPOSE: To fill a vacant position within the Airport Commission.
BACKGROUND: .
• The Airport Commission was established by Ordinance 17-003 on March 29, 2017.
• The Airport Commission acts as an advisory board to the Executive.
• The Airport Commission is composed of thirteen (13) members consisting of one person from each council district, three persons from the airport tenant community, three persons from the business community, and two persons from the county at large.
• As a resident of Council District 4, Mohamad Quijdani represented the district on the Airport Commission.
• Mr. Quijdani has resigned and Matthew Arny, also a resident of Council District 4, has applied to represent the district on the Airport Commission.
• Mr. Arny has been active as a volunteer in various organizations. He also has experience and education in airport and business management that he would like to put to use supporting the community. It is recommended that Mr. Arny fill the vacant Council District 4 position for the balance of the term which is set to expire January 31, 2024.
